What can a hotel concierge actually arrange?
The useful question is not whether a hotel has a concierge desk. It is whether the service you need exists when you need it.
Hotel listings often separate “24-hour front desk” from “concierge desk service”. They are different claims. A property can offer both without promising that the concierge desk itself operates around the clock.
Tokyo Marriott Hotel, for example, currently lists a 24-hour front desk and concierge desk service among its property services. For a time-sensitive request, the next step is still to ask the property directly whether the relevant concierge function is available at that hour.
Before booking, define the friction you want removed: restaurant reservations, local arrangements, transport coordination, luggage help or something else. Then verify that specific service rather than relying on the word “concierge”.
What’s the catch?
Do not treat “24-hour front desk” as proof of “24-hour concierge”. Service scope and operating hours vary by property, and some requests depend on third parties.
